We are also racing Thursday as part of the BEAVER COUNTY FAIR in BEAVER, OKLAHOMA. Gates open at 6 Hot Laps are at 630pm and Races will begin at 7:30pm.

Here in Dodge City there is a lot of racing left. This week’s races are just the beginning of some must see events coming up in September.
The Salute to 9-11 is going to be a great event with an Air Show – and many other special events going on to Salute those who serve to save.

IMCA Sport Mod Showdown

IMCA wants to know if it is Northern or Southern?

There is still a NORTH vs SOUTH thing going on and it is happening right up and down the middle of the United States, and we are going to find out the answers right here at DCRP!

After the weekend of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, October 1 – 3 there will be no “what if’s” when it comes down to their hottest new sanctioned classes in dirt track racing. The NORTHERN rules for a Sport Mod are somewhat different from the SOUTHERN Sport Mods. Suspension and chassis seem to be better on the Northern and the engine and powerplant in the Southern Sport Mods are rumored to have more horsepower.

We have been experimenting with these classes all year, at DODGE CITY RACEWAY PARK we have been running the NCRA Southerns and the IMCA Northerns together. On our weekly races we felt to even them up closer they neeed to on the same tire and they needed to weigh the same.  The races have been really close and they are very competitive. But for this Championship each class goes back to their own rules.

For this Championship race Northern Rules are for Northern Cars and Southern Rules are for Southern Cars.  No mixing the rules – each class runs their own rules HEADS UP and then we will know who has the faster cars and the best drivers.

Southern Sport Mods or Northern Sport Mods – no matter what we will have an IMCA NATIONAL SPORT MOD CHAMPION!  NCRA Southern Sport Mods can join the IMCA and race for this Championship if their cars are legal SOUTHERN SPORT MODS.

The weekend (Oct 1st -2nd – 3rd) is something you will not want to miss.
*Friday night is an open practice hot lap night and also a free bar b que feed to those car owners and drivers who pre-entered (free up to 4 per car). Anyone else that wants to join in on Friday will be $10 per person for the meal or $20 to hot lap and still get to enjoy the party and food.
*Saturday is a qualifying night for Sunday’s big one. Saturday night main event locks in the top 6 into Sunday’s main and pays $1000 bux to win $100 to start the A Main.
*Sunday is a full day of qualifying features and the big 40 lap main event for $3,000 to win and a huge trophy to go along with the NATIONAL SPORT MOD CHAMPION! Sunday’s main event also pays $100 to start with nearly $10,000 total up for grabs. Special trophy awards will be given out as this is something everyone will want to remember.

So far we have had people ready to pre-enter from Wisconsin to Dallas and from as far West as Arizonia.  The money is big and so will be the History making NATIONAL SPORT MOD title.  Get pre-entered now and save money and save your car number.

History in Dodge City kinda like the old Gunfighter days after the Civil War when the North vs the South fights would break out – only this time the shootout is with SPORT MODS.  History will be made and you can be part of it as we host the NATIONAL SPORT MOD CHAMPIONSHIP here at Dodge City Raceway Park.

Budweiser Nationals & Bus Races

Budweiser presents the Summer Nationals, Saturday night, September 4.

This is a very important race on the schedule and it is also the final night of the year we are racing SCHOOL BUSES! School Bus Races are always a blast to watch. The huge behomth buses are not made to race around the dirt track, so anything can and usually does happen.

Racing school buses this night will be race car drivers and last time those guys drove the wheels off them.

Racing for the Season Championship is one thing – but winning a race like this is for immediate bragging rights.

Budweiser and Western Beverage has always stepped to the plate and we know if you have a beer you have a choice here at DCRP and we want to ask you to make it a BUD!
